Includes photographs of Albany, Beaverton, Corvallis (including views of the Oregon Agircultural College), Eugene (including views of the University of Oregon campus), Forest Grove, Hillsboro, McMinnville, Newberg, Salem (including views of the Chemawa Indian School), Sherwood, Tualatin, Tigard, Wilsonville, and Woodburn, among other locations. Also includes photographs of the first Spokane, Portland, and Seattle freight shipment to Eugene. Photographers include Angelus Studio, Benjamin A. Gifford, and Kiser Photo Co., all of Portland, Or.

Benjamin A. Gifford (1859-1936) was born in DuPage County, Illinois. After briefly attending Kansas Normal College, Benjamin worked for two years as an apprentice in a Ft. Scott, Kansas, photo gallery. He finished his apprenticeship in Sedalia, Missouri, under William LaTour, and then returned to Fort Scott to become a partner in a photo studio.
